It's fun to dream about what good a person could do with that much money:
Subsidize factories by setting up free day care for workers' children.
Providing housing for homeless people, with a way out--maybe job training and counseling.
Convert empty buildings in urban to youth clubs, with appropriate activities.
You can tell where my interests lie, I guess.
My hometown had a guy who struck it rich. He came back to the little dying Podunk town determined to leave his mark. But instead of investing in the town, he set up several fancy retail businesses that weren't really needed. When the businesses failed, he retaliated by buying up all the vacant buildings and leaving them vacant. Now it is even more of a dying Podunk town, with 3/4 of the buildings standing empty, nothing for kids to do, unemployment rampant. I hope he feels good about it.
