What does Philipe understand about division that I don't?

Since we are confessing ... when the lotteries first started here, the designated driver pulled into the 7-11 parking lot. He said he wanted a ticket and I gave him $1.

He came back with several and handed one to me. I don't know if I checked the winning # or how I might have done that. This was 1982.

DW buys a lottery ticket now and then. About 10 years after my walk on the wild side, she won a couple hundred dollars. She was excited but the result was that she seemed to be trying to hold onto her winnings and bought less than before ..! I have encouraged her to swing for the fences but she's a very, very conservative gambler. At least, she doesn't tease me. And, she will stop to buy A ticket soon, she says.

it is funny how people get really really stupid when it comes to giant jackpots, they spend 100's on tickets and there are the people who can barely pay the bills and spend the power bill or rent money on it

bet it goes over 1.6b

1.4b= 868m cash value= roughly after taxes 400m
or
if you take the annuity 1.4b div by 29 yrs = 3.44 m roughy a year

which way would you go????????

I'd take the cash after taxes. I'm going to tell my husband to buy a few tickets. He usually has more luck than me. I've never bought one myself. Last weeks pool of $10 was the first time and someone else organized it for us.

I do wish they would divide the money into smaller increments so there would be more winners.
