The counter tops were measured up today and it went well. But we are not scheduled for install until the 15th yuck. I has been a lot more work than I was thinking when I started. The last kitchen I installed was at our old house when I was 20 yrs younger than now. I had to take up some of the flooring and cut out a 6' section of the floor where the dishwasher started leaking. Which is what put us on the road of rehabing the kitchen earlier than we wanted to. Putting the blocking in the floor joists has been the most labor intensive part so far, I will admit I said a lot of swear words while doing it. I do have a consultant who has helped with a ton of the planning and helping DW pick out the back splash and counter tops. He kind of like a project manager who has never been in our house lol. We a hoping to pick up our missing upper cabinet tomorrow AM. Peninsula work is ongoing it kind of slow because there is no plan just designing as I build it. I think it is going to look nice when I am done:duc.
I have not heard about anchoring the range down but I will look into it. I think if they told me to put sheet metal on my cabinets to prevent their stove from catching my house on fire I would tell them to come get the thing out of my house. Nowhere in any of the info I have read has it said to do that, I hope it was sold ready to be installed in our house as is. Maybe it just for extra piece of mind though, now you got me worried lol.
Watching those remdeling shows makes everything look quick and easy.

Kitchen is coming along fine I have been busy working on kitchen, insulating and building storage shelving in garage. Also working on utility room storage and organization. The kitchen is ready for granite which will be installed Monday. We are waiting for delivery of new dishwasher still, and I have propane line ran in house just need the inspection to pass:fl. So hopefully It will be back to full function by midweek. I will take some pics of the finished product as soon as it is complete.
Oh and I am staining more trim to finish trimming kitchen and living room.

Valley I have done everything from demolition to finish except countertops. I have built a custom peninsula here and the granite top for it is going to weigh 1000lbs. The installers came out twice to make sure that it would hold up to the weight. The owner even came out to look and said it would easily support double that. They had to route channels into the granite to imbed 3/8" x4" stainless steel plates every 24" so it will look like it floating lol. I am trying to get the rest of the trim stained to finish door and peninsula before counter installed, not going to happen though. Guess I just fight on.
