A lot of stuff is coming on nice right now. I do however, have some mites showing up in the greenhouse😳. We had some last year as well and i was able to keep them at bay; for a little bit; with a strong fermented plant extract spray. It seems early for these little buggers so hopefully i can keep control a while longer.

Almost mirroring my last post! Plenty going on right now. Have enough of the black ox-hearts ripe at the same time and will try saucing them.
11 inch diameter Broccoli. Beans to blanch and far too many cukes.

I guess if i include some of the garden beds it will mix it up a bit. Things look pretty good for the time of year, cool and cloudy year’s are deceiving. If we glide into a slow fall everything will have a lot of time and do quite well In this weather. If it’s abrupt and or early, well then; who knows. This is Carrots, beets, parsnips, onions and potatoes.
then a bed of Kale, Broccoli and cabbage.

Darkibore kale on the left, Gypsy broccilli in the center and 4 heads of Kaitlin cabbage on the end, enough for our yearly kraut needs.
the broccilli on this side have had the main heads removed and will be replaced once the second heads are cut. I have 6 - 1 ft. Tall replacements ready to go.
And a better look at the cabbage.
the cereal grass seen growing thruout this bed is oats, rabbits love it!

Put the “guard rails” up on the carrots and parsnips today and am noticing the cabbages are real ready to jump in the kraut crock!

The hoops are multi purpose. Sometimes they have plastic for frost protection sometimes agribon fabric to keep certain bugs out and in this case they simply help support the plants. About this time of year things need some breathing room in my beds and they get sorta top heavy so this helps keep everything contained for another month or so and then its about over anyway.

When do you harvest your parsnips? I really like that vegetable and have tried growing it. I got mostly tops. When I harvested in September/October, and saw how small the roots were, I wondered if this vegetable needs an extra long season or earlier seeding. I didn't add any root support amendments though, so it may have been that too.
