It looks like were kinda back on track with predictions of mid 60’s days and 40’ish nights. Outside, the garden proper is planted and once the remaining starts go away things will relax some!

By the first of the week i’ll be able to take some more early morning paddles in my new canoe Too!

All the outside beds are amended, planted, drip lines in place and ready to go now. This picture shows most of that.

In the past i’ve grown pumpkins & squash on a conduit frame, with decent results. This year im not planting Anise Hyssop but am going to put the pumpkins in that bed and this years trellis is made from a couple cattle panels, and im looking forward to this.

One month ago we had a lot of snow but the heat was on in the greenhouse and we populated it on the 20th. Now 30 days later things are kicking in and it won’t slow down for 3 more months.

A host of things got done today, most noteworthy is the pumpkin and squash bed was populated. Mostly “Cinnamon Girl” but there’s also a couple “North Georgia Candy Roaster’s” in there. A Rube Goldberg water tie in makes it automatic.
The Agribon cover is in place on the onions. It will only be opened 2-4 times during the season!

A piece of shade cloth was added to the end where the cucumbers are And on my way to the house i noticed a small handful of asparagus that was ready. They’re really starting to come now, hopefully it’s a good year?

Sure, everything on this property relies on drip irrigation and just to the right of this bed is a covered lettuce bed that has water piped to it; all underground. So; i ran a piece of garden hose from the lettuce bed to the squash bed and “tied it into a section of drip irrigation tubing”. Now it will drip .4 gallons per hour with a 12 inch spacing between emitters, at 10:30 AM for 30 minutes each day, which is roughly 1 qt from each emitter.

The hose timer control’s it completely; once programed!

Me and Jackson had a good day today. At 11:00 they delivered 10 yards of garden soil and by 3:30 i had those two beds as full as i want them; using shovels and a rake!😳
Tomorrow each bed gets 5 ea, 2 cu/ft bags of Roots Organic potting soil and 5 bags of play sand. This has been my base soil right from the start. Once the top 8 inches is mixed well i’ll amend it and it’ll be ready to plant.

When i go to Church this evening i may have to talk someone into opening the song book for me cause it feels like im stepping on my hands when i walk. I like to tell people “only my bones are old; on the inside im still a punk.” Not today, today im whipped thru and thru but still have to say, “thank you Lord”.

After @heirloomgal introduced us to “electroculture” i did a little reading and bought some supplies. I intend to put up another in the garden and 1 in the greenhouse; then wait! Im familiar enough with what i grow that i can make a qualified determination of the worth, once the season progresses.
I used 1” pvc as it’s a bit more rigid than 3/4 and discovered that a one inch dowel fit the inside of the pvc perfectly. I took a 16 inch section of 1 in. copper pipe and soldered the end of the wire to one end and hammered the other end flat so it would penetrate the soil easily. I also drilled a couple screw holes to allow fastening to the inside of the bed.

This reminds me of the crystal radios we made as kids, didnt know how they worked but they did!🫣

If nothing else; i can tell folks “it helps me harness energy from the polar magnetism of the earth”. And that is worth a lot!!😉

Very cool! DH is making me some antennae's this weekend! I'm not sure what he'll wrap the copper wire around yet. Might use the birch sapling bean poles since they are all up anyway. We have a friend a few blocks over who has some antennae's up in his wife's garden beds! That's 3 of us, so we'll be able to compare. This'll be fun!

Like most net research, this subject has numerous published articles. Read a few and realize most are simply plagiarized with only the pictures changed?
After reading a half dozen or more, i found this link which doesn’t change it up much but there is more from the historical perspective; which interest me.
