Mary, you can't turn down an invitation like that. And you don't even have to wait for Hayley to land at the airport, skulking in the shadows to get a glimpse so you can report back to TEG-land!!:lol:

Actually, supposedly if all works out right, May is the month Hayley may be coming up from NSW Australia. If so, she'll be there too.

It's a very long way, and an expensive flight, but she's been saving for it, and she is even looking into buying some property.

She's the real smart cookie. She's studying hard to find property that will increase in value.

Bluebonnet, we don't really "hijack" threads here. They just sometimes kind of "evolve". :caf

Actually, we will be hoping to obtain some of those White Blackberries.

You never know what the volunteers at the Burbank places propagate. They usually do at least a few Cactus Pears, some of Burbank's Roses, hopefully some of his Apples. These are often usually very small starts. I guess.

Here's what my guessing is based on, lol. I've of course been to both places, many times, but it has been 6 years now since the last time. When I was there last time, at the farm there was nobody working there, and there was a place where there had recently been a plant sale. I probably only saw what was left, but everything was small, things such as recently rooted cuttings. I don't know if or how things may have changed in 6 years.

This thread is not hijacked, it just includes conversation, which suits me just fine. :)

If these Burbank places are as varied as you say they are, I think it is worth a trip out there to see it in person. I might find some things I had no idea I wanted.

If the places are no longer up and running, maybe some local rooting around will turn up what I am looking for.

It looks like they are working places still Bluebonnet. Did you peek at their website?

When I moved back to the area after living in Montana for 21 years, I visited the Sebastopol farm. Surprised to find that much of the acreage was turned into townhouse apartment things, and only 1 or 2 acres were left. But they had things sort of fixed and concentrated there.

The Burbank house, greenhouse, and gardens in Santa Rosa were still basically the same.

I would really like to run both of those operations. Truly.
