The thread subject: staying in shape.

I don't know how I would stay in shape if I couldn't move about on my feet. I do not want to have to learn those lessons. Let's learn how to take care of our feet.

That's a step in the right direction!

YES take care of your feet! Stop it before it is a real problem. Those comfy flip flops and stylish high heals...
They will be paid for in the future. :(

The best feeling in the world was sacking up FOUR TRASH BAGS of heels and taking them to Goodwill. :)Never again will I wear heels. Since heels are almost required for professional attire, I think men should wear them too. THAT would do away with the darn things FOREVER. :smack

But don't go picking on my flip flops......:gig

Classical Stretch is back on teevee early each weekday.

I'm beginning to play on a different schedule; one that has almost nothing to do with productivity, you know, retired. The repeats of the show started in September! Missed that. In fact, I must pay attention to the clock or I miss the full hour, 5am - to 6.

Yes, Miranda and her Esmonde Technique. I guess uses "eccentric" exercises (link) with some idea of not putting weight or too much momentum into the movements so as to avoid injuries. I just think of it as stretching. I didn't need it in September.

I've been good about the 30 minutes of walking each day. Eccentric? Yeah. When I have to do that as an "indoor mile." You can imagine that if I'm walking at only 2mph, it ain't a cardiovascular exercise unless I do something else with the arms. Fortunately, it doesn't take much.

I mean, it really doesn't take much! Thirty minutes a day? I don't have to perform like a trotting horse to lift the heart rate, and can see a mile plus of planet Earth :). But, the choices of exercise are many (link), indoors or out.

Miranda can't provide all my directions because as soon as the floor exercises begin, I'm done. But, it sure feels good to get the stretching in :). Thirty minutes of cardio and the target heart rate, what's that (link)? For me, hitting the midpoint isn't even 100/minute. Shoot. Ten or so beats better than that - I'm barely even breathing hard.

It was something of a revelation to learn that walking around in the house could do it. If the stretching exercises with Miranda lasted 30 minutes ... er ... if she wasn't so quick to get down on the floor. Oh well, gotta assume some personal initiative ;).

Steve!

Sounds like you are out of your plateau, Yay! Hopefully you'll see more movement now. I also hate having my picture taken. I am not photogenic at all. I usually come out with my eyes close or something.
