I've been listing and calculating, scribbling out nearly indecipherable notes, since 9am and it's nearly 1pm. Luckily, DW brought me lunch and there was apple pie.

I'm only half way through the Tomatoes and haven't even started the Beans! (Making the list eligible and alphabetical comes later ;).)

Do you know what's in your boxes, baskets and on your shelves? Ready for the 2015 seed?

:) Steve

I think that I've nearly got all of my seeds sorted through. Before I can say I'm finished I'd better go through this entire room again. There could be seeds hiding under the mattress, between the books on the bookshelf, behind the coyote skin or behind painting hanging on my wall...

Heck, if I tilt my head enough, something might fall out of my- aha! Radish seeds...

Fifty-eight varieties of tomatoes! This doesn't include Marshall's crosses & de-hybrids!

Twenty-five years ago, I had 2. Both were red and round, one big and one little. You know, I really have exercised restraint.

The beans and everything, finished, finished and finished! I did run off for a few minutes to the greengrocer for oranges and bananas ;). Typing what is written on these 6 pages of ugly yellow paper is now a must ... only then, will I be able to decide what to add for this year's garden.

I do know what I have. I made a spreadsheet several years ago and have kept it pretty much up to date. Doesn't mean I can find the seeds when I want them, just that I know they are here somewhere.

My flower seeds are arranged alphabetically in boxes -- no spreadsheet there -- but the boxes leave no clues as to when the seeds were put inside or how old they might be. I really think I should throw all the flower seeds out in a bed this spring and see what happens. Except for a few pest-flowers in the garden, I'm not into growing flowers as much as I was before I got sick.

I've done my inventory, but still haven't gotten around to sitting down and making an order. Hopefully, I'll get to it this weekend. This is late for me.

i started many years ago keeping track of seeds in notebooks. then moved to keeping it on my PCs but with technology changes they were all on disks that are no longer used. since my laptop doesn't have an 'A:' drive and i never bothered to move the info over to a CD or thumb drive i've held onto those disks but never converted the info. i also no longer use Excell on this pc. i started last year entering my newest list onto the tablet but have yet to update it for this year. at least with the tablet it is easier to work with and doesn't take up as much space.

last year i had 50 varieties of tomatoes, 23 types of garlic, 11 types of cukes, 14 types of onions, 3 types of leeks, 6 types of potatoes-2 were fingerlings. my list from last year never got finished so i don't know the totals of all the stuff i have. i thought i entered most everything i've collected over the years and still have a little left of each, but appears some of my last items i thought i entered didn't get done. i have lots to add from this year's purchases, trades and saves.

I decided to spare the Seed Hoarders thread this picture:

Everything is upstairs for the moment. That's last year's inventory sheet (two column, double-sided) on top the legal pad. I've got all the info off those pages and onto a computer file --- soon, soon -- I will have it on a nice clean white sheet of paper like that so I can carry it around! That will make the inventory handy while completing the catalog browsing.

Yes, I know ! Finding that seed won't be easy when it comes to a trip to the garden but --- honestly! -- there is some organization in that horrid mess! At least, it's all on paper.
