Purge, purge, purge.... I'm not buying anything until I see what can be done with what I have. I don't have much to buy then, other than lettuce and winter squash and sweet corn this year.

My seed orders rise and fall on about 2 year cycles. There was a lot on last year's inventory and smaller seed orders.

I've tried to stay focused on saving some $ ! It looks like 1 or 2 less seed orders this year. That will save on shipping.

Except for the first ones, I'm not usually finished with ordering plans this early but decided it would be best to know what will be spent, where. The last order will go out in March.

Everything was on one page, under seed source heading - small font :). Then, I did the price comparisons. Marked out the losers ... back to the pc & printer for the pared down draft ... I think I'm ready to go!

Steve :)

Same here @so lucky ! What if I like them and they are so good and I can't find more of them... I can't seem to get myself to plant them, I guess I'm gonna turn into a seed hoarder like the rest of y'all... or overcome my phobia and get out of my comfort zone :hide

But...but...What if they don't grow? What if I don't like them? What if I DO like them and I forget to save seeds and I can't find any more next year? Oh, I can't plant these! They are too valuable right where they are!
This is why Grandma's things stay in the dusty attic unused until you're gone and your kids find everything and wonder why these wondrous things were never used and appreciated.

What good are seedy visions in your head? Seeds were intended to be planted and enjoyed, not stored and pawed through from time to time.

I threw away a lot of things last year that were old and that I had no real interest in planting. The bulk of my collection is from what I've saved myself. I even went through my beans this winter, pared them down to a reasonable amount to keep and made soup with the rest. :) But yes, the clock is ticking to get some of those things in the ground. You can't keep them forever (although freezing them helps... ;) )

I was wondering if anyone was interested in doing a seed train this year? :caf

First 2015 seed in the mailbox this afternoon!

Osborne Seed. Their first email said that it would be mailed on Wednesday. I got 3 emails from this company as the order was processed. Then, a tracking # from USPS. There is only one other company that will do this that I deal with.

Are they just spoiling me :) or is this "connectivity" becoming common practice?

Steve
