Kind of thought this thread would get hot. I'm backing off of it

Marshall,

The variety is so obscure that I am surprised there is any interest on their part. It is mostly grown in Europe, and a search on Google does not return a much information on the variety at all. For whatever reason Monsanto will not load on my browser either. I did look at Seminis and did not find anything concerning the variety. The seeds are purchased from Pinetree Garden seeds and are still available. It was just a surprise to see them appear on my blog. Like I wrote, I just don't trust them.

Never said trust, like, or do business with them. Not my favorite but realize all large companies are that way.

Question? How do you know any company vista your site? Do they type in their name or do you have spy ware that connects to other people's computer?

I have tracking software that shows who visited, how long, what they did, any downloads, what they searched for. Normally I don't pay much attention, but if I see any government agency like Justice Dept. or Homeland Security I want to know why they visited, and what they were looking for. Here is an example.

Baton Rouge,
Louisiana,
United States Albemarle Corp (199.223.53.5) [Label IP Address]
hydroponicworkshop.blogspot.com/2010/10/tropic-tomato-results.html
www.google.com tropic tomato plants

I don't have anything to hide, but I like to know what is of interest, and to whom.

Monsanto owns Seminis Seeds Jack. Might want to check to see if it is one of their patented varieties.

Double checking for references SeedCorn. I do understand you always want the straight facts without the emotionalizing.

www.monsanto.com will not load on my computer! However www.seminis.com did load.

on Seminis' site I clicked for united states, then clicked Lettuce. I actually only see Braveheart and Conquistador Lettuce varieties there. Further checking...

I do see that Seminis sells Tomato Rootstock for grafted Tomatoes...

Seminis' home page does have a link to Monsanto. Guess what. I do not know why, but it is not loading! I indeed shall try my other laptop, and I shall try that proxy server. However, fact is, Monsanto pages are not loading. I have that grey circle still spinning on the other tab. I do apologize SeedCorn for failing to give reference for my saying Monsanto own Seminis, and do request you to check for me please. Sincere and true it is not loading for me. It eventually gave me ERROR 101.

http://www.seminis.com/global/us/products/Pages/Western-USA.aspx

The above is one of Seminis seeds where to buy pages. This is west u.s. The box when clicked gives a menu of other similar pages for different regions.

Seminis pages load, Monsanto pages do not. Perhaps it is my machine or system, perhaps they are doing a page update or something.
Monsanto does own Seminis. They acquired it a few years ago (maybe '04 or '05). http://www.monsanto.com/products/Pages/seminis.aspx

It was originaly Petoseeds which was a break away company from Burpee.

Just because you believe it, doesn't make it true. DuPont almost as large with Syngenta right behind. Doesn't include other breeders that are independent. Stine, Lima Grain,KWS, etc
You asked where I got the numbers, and I told you. Just because you don't believe it, doesn't make it not true.

We have Monsanto and the FDA to thank for this stuff:

Glyphosphate

WHAT IT IS: The active ingredient in the popular weed killer Roundup. Its used on corn and soy crops genetically engineered to withstand a heavy dousing of the chemical.
FOUND IN: Most nonorganic packaged foods containing corn- and soy-derived ingredients. Because its a systemic herbicide, its taken up by the plantmeaning you eat it.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Glyphosphate exposure is linked to obesity, learning disabilities, and infertility.

Please give me some place to look where glyphosate is connected to obesity, learning disabilities and infertility.
