That really is the tough part. I did manage to grow a couple mini melons last year, that looked absolutely perfect- but they weren't ripe. So disappointing. Hopefully, you'll have better luck!
That looks delicious!I had one volunteer moon and stars watermelon plant come up in my peas. It produced one melon. It's in the fridge, now, chillin for later.
I cut it last night and it was really sweet. The seeds appear to be fully mature. Will be saving the seeds for next year. If anyone would like to try them, just let me know. Can you save the seeds on that at this point? It would give you a double bonus
