So, been very confused over some fish...
Finally figured it out.
The kitchen koi turned more yellow and I sold it.
Then the two I bought earlier n kept loosing color-
And last the homegrown that I thought was one of the above. Lol

Started setting up the old filter.
Thinking of doing 3 filters along the narrow wall instead of moving them to the left in spring. And on the left, doing a stepped waterfall of sorts to deal with and hide all the awkwardness over there. Maybe put the bog on the front left corner, too. To further deal with the odd dirt.

Ordered 6 more mats. Won $25 in PayPal, so used that as a discount. Those danged matala mats are expensive!
Tried finding them on alibaba, there's similar ones, but hard to know w/o a sample and I don't speak the language, so, can't take the risk.
