Life has continued to be he-ll. Dog got killed, sheep problems, pasture problems, escaped bull, house issues, and I accidentally cut a cable. So, need a new one to turn UV back on.
Finally got to some weeding started.

And a volunteer plant, empress tree. Way, way too close to the pond, so it had to go.

Drained the qt pond, put the 9 koi in a bin with filter & hoping they'll be sold asap.
Blue 600gal trough will be moved for the horses to use, and their 300gal will move to be used as the qt instead. Fish fry don't need that much water and space.

Gotta wash the pond filters for winter, too.

Green heron decided to try snacking in my pond. Got itself stuck and needing rescue. 🙄
Gotta add net to the fence blocking livestock out to also keep these guys out now, too.
They sound like wonky chickens....

they sure do sound strange! the first time i heard one i had never heard it before (oh, duh, it's morning forgive me :) ) i'm leaving that in here because it'd dumbly funny and it is morning and that is how my brain doesn't quite get going too good yet...

anyways, i would never hold anything with that sharp of a beak anywhere close to me because knowing my luck it would find a way to get me somehow. i'm amazed you did that...

i hope all your favorite koi made it through the winter and you can enjoy watching them this season.
