Well, I had another score today! My DH lurves me! He worked for the little old couple doing some yard work today and brought some goodies.

Joe, I feel bad you sent such beautiful elephant ears when DH had this surprise planned (he knew he would be bringing home babies - he just didn't tell ME). He also brought home more kalanchoe and some other succulent type thing. I have no idea what it is. One is variegated, the other turns pink in the sun.... :hu

Great score Cristal.
The "some other succulent type thing" is a Devils back bone.
it will look different with different light conditions. They do well if you strike the cuttings in sand!

Vfem; I wonder how you would prepare the roof for this notion.

I could see it now, me out there hoisting my mower onto the roof! :mow
That would be cool though.

Lavender2; I love variegated plants, it sure breaks up all the green around me.
I have been wanting one of these for a long time. :rose
Yes the rack is filling up fast! It is getting harder to roll out as it is getting heavy and it has to roll over the sliding glass door tracks.

If you look at the other thread you started I posted a link for you.

I like the idea! I think it would have to be done right!
Being an ex roofer I question what happens underneath the garden?
I would have to read up on this, it would be great to have some insulation up there. My roof is pertnear flat. I only have 5.5" of insulation space. That only leaves room for R19 plus 5/8' drywall and the roof mat. ( Torch Down ) over 1"X 10" s.

All said not much help from the brutal FL sun shine!
That being said I will look into this more!

Now over to what I scored today!

Today was very productive, again I must thank Ron for all the good luck I have had!

Look at this pile of cuttings. I will post them after I strike them.

It isn't me! It's you Joe!

If you believe then it must be true! If you didn't then I doubt anything would happen! Keep Believing Man!

Not to detract from such a vital idea!

Living Roofs

What a cool thing to do. I think if everyone did this it would be a nicer world!
