Pour your V8 in a bowl of chopped fresh vegetables - sweet peppers, tomatoes and cucumber. Splash in just a bit of vinegar.

Call it "gazpacho" and ..

. enjoy :).

baby beets, leaves and all - a favorite! Mature beets, just okay.

@Nyboy could the flavor have been nutmeg? Something rattling around in the back of my mind says my Gma would put that in her beet soup.

I was so prepared to love Swiss chard, but the realization that it is beet's cousin hit my taste buds with a bang. Oh the disappointment! Oh the dirt taste! I'm sticking with kale for smoothies.
I sure hope the Toscano (?) kale I planted the last few seeds of grows well. Having to protect it from the darned rabbits.

I've heard this idea about beets and the earth. I'm so overwhelmed by beet sweetness, nothing other than "beets," would occur to me. Dirt o_O??

I may have burned out on chard as a kid. What I don't much like about it is the thick midrib. I suppose the flavor is okay but I haven't eaten it in years.

Now, kale ... I've been eating that all my life. Of course, I've been eating broccoli and cabbage and cauliflower. NONE of these things would I want in a drink!!

Steve
