I don't know how to make the.@ show up in front of a forum members name! I have just been typing out the name of needed! 😂

if you type the @ then the site will start looking for the name which includes the letters you put after it to start with. don't put a space after the @...

so to pick on @digitS' is easy... :)

Ok, lm always open for tips & tricks using this forum. Anyone can police me and correct me at anytime they feel needed. My ears are open.🤗

you can change how you see things by turning off or on BB Code (click on three dots if you don't see [] and click on that). sometimes i can only edit certain things by turning BB code off.

i don't use the quote feature that often. i use the reply feature a lot more and will try to edit what is included in that reply down (using ... to mark spots that i've removed things i didn't think relevant to my reply) before posting it.

if i'm doing something complicated i will use the preview to check that i've not really messed it up. sometimes i write a long post and delete it before i even post it...

i don't use #. i'm not sure it even works how i would expect it to work here.

Remember the post if already been read by a member the yellow dot changed to black circle.
When you edit a post does that trigger the yellow notification dot on again to alert someone to read again to see the correction or update.

I will have to look at the BB code.
I remember seeing that.

i don't think so. people should just know that i am likely to edit a post for a while after i make it. :) if they don't go back and read it again i'm ok with that... :)

this a good example of what happens. after i post something i think of things to add or i notice a typo or a screwup. sometimes it may be the next day that i notice it.

someone quotes the old version. oh well. them's the breaks...

Yea, That's what I been doing.
I only use edit and reply.
I just simply don't know how to use quote or tag. Guess I will stay ok with that. Technology is getting too complicated.

it doesn't hurt to ask for help from @Support as that is what they are there for. like if you post a thread and then later think it might be better given a different place - they can move it for you. i think if you only ask once in a while they're fine with honoring requests as long as they can do it and have the time. :)

personally, i would rather people post replies to existing threads instead of making up new threads with similar topics or titles, but i do also know that not everyone searches for existing threads and titles first and sometimes i don't either...

i also accept that by posting here my posts may be removed or changed by the website owner or the support people or whatever can happen next.

if you want your words to be kept you need to figure out how to archive them yourself. i am glad i did that before for a certain website that has since disappeared.

sometimes the wayback machine can help, but other times it can't.

here's a tip for bookmarking the end of a thread.

bookmark the first page and then edit it to make the page number something rather large. :)

Not sure what you mean about the paragraph:
"If you want your words to be kept"
