Maybe think of the forum like a tree, Dan.

The forum is the trunk. The sub-forums are branches. This "feedback & announcements" is a sub-forum. Your post creates a thread. There are many threads, fewer sub-forums, and one main forum.

The forum's webmaster is the only one who can start a new branch, sub-forum. Members can post new threads or reply to existing ones.

A hashtag # will not bring similar topics or words together in search results. First look for a sub-forum with a title that comes close to your interest. If you want to explore more past threads there, you can type in a few words and limit the search function to those words. Post a comment and others will see that in their alerts, the what's new, the new posts, or as they are scrolling through a sub-forum. Otherwise, create your own thread with a title and a comment. Other gardeners will find it the same way and can respond there.

I tried it, not working for me. I'm sure it's a operator error (ME LOL)

do you have a really slow connection? or what kind of device are you using? it might be dependent upon your browser or some other setting which may be blocking what is supposed to happen.

i use Mozilla Firefox on a PC desktop running Linux (which is not very usual as this isn't windows) - pretty much as up to date as it almost gets.

oh, and try to do it in the middle of your screen and not right at the bottom (the list of suggested names might be off the bottom of your screen if you are using a small device and you are at the bottom of the screen).

Not sure what you mean about the paragraph:
"If you want your words to be kept"

suppose you write something you want to keep somehow (maybe the website gets erased 30 years from now and you really liked a poem you wrote or something), how would you do that? there are some tools you can use which will get a copy of web pages so you don't have to cut and paste them. if you do it be respectful of the website and don't download the entire thing just things you want in particular.

like for me here there's my main thread that i do want to archive, but the many other posts i write while some may be well written and interesting i just can't keep them all. i'm also modest and pithy.
