Today we have about 6 inches of heavy wet snowman making snow, on top of the 6 inches from 2 days ago. No school so I have 3 boys with me today,6, 3, and 1. I tired out the older ones making snowmen and having a snow ball fight. I need a nap but that will have to wait until their parents get them for dinner.

The difference between Bob's weather & several hundred miles away:

It was -1°f at sunrise with a 14mph NE breeze, so -19° windchill.

Nearly noon and 4° but gusts to nearly 30mph, so it feels colder! We had the *sparkly* flakes blowing off of trees and rooftops yesterday but the wind has already moved most of the lighter snow.

More snow last night. VERY cold temps forecast for tonight. And yes we had some snow days for cold. But it was VERY cold. Like-25 F. Busses gel in those temps and kids are left waiting at the end of the lane for a bus that is WAY late.

I can only remember it at 25° below zero 4 times here. Once, I'm not completely sure if it was that cold. We had so much ice on the interior walls of the greenhouses that year! With an acre under glass at that place, it was scary.

Children, I don't know - more tender than greenhouse rose bushes, we know that!

Machines - dang things! Wonder they can even function. Thank Heavens we got 'em to make our lives easier during the difficult times.

Cat' has probably had her nap by now ;).

WELL THANKS FOR BLOODY LETTING ME KNOW!!!!!

Heather, unless there is a nice place to stop for a cup of hot cocoa on the way . .

. I think a nap when you get home would be just the right thing to do.

If there is a cup of cocoa between there and home, a nap might still be called for. You could think of it as a blessed opportunity.

It is now 8:45 am ... 19* swirling winds between 3- 11 mph , forecast high of 23* with a low of 16* tonight. Started to snow at 8:33 am - very light , dry snow as what lands on the ground is blown elsewhere. Forcast calls for between 1 - 5" of snow. Many schools are on a 2 hr delay or closed. In Oregon, OSU is closed while UO is open ( 20 +/- miles apart). As in Nature, the Beavers head for cover into their stick houses while the Ducks are out and about. :idunno

It is now 9:24 Am with very little dry snow on the ground and just now , on the road right behind our house , a pick-up just rear ended an SUV and slid partway into a ditch ... 2 cop cars with lights flashing just arrived. Stay tuned for more Wham - Bams as more snow hits the ground as I just poured myself a cup of HOT Chocolate ! :caf
