I opened this thread to comment on our cool morning.

After reading what @Rhodie Ranch has to say, I feel sad. I like summer days but that's too hot. Overnight lows won't cool enough.

What do you think about checking the forecast there and taking a little drive to the coast? Stretching out under the full moon on a sandy beach ..?

sometimes you go outside when it is really hot and your body is tricked into thinking it is really cold and you shiver and then your body figures it out and you start sweating instead...

yesterday i used garden gloves to pull quart jars out of the oven - they were not tricking anything into thinking it was cold... i had been using pads to grab the quart jars, but that was not going to my liking so i thought i'd try the gloves instead. close, but not quite. may have to check the store for some thermal mitts of some kind...

Uhhh...... NO. I never go outside when it’s really hot and start shivering. Not ever. My body knows it’s hot and begs me to go back to the AC. LOL

Lake Charles is having a similar weather.

Without electricity because of the hurricane, the Louisiana residents are using generators. Some are doing that in an unsafe manner.

News this morning was that the death toll is increasing and nearing 20 with half the deaths from carbon monoxide poisoning - gasoline generators.
