It's not uncommon to get rains like that. It has been so dry here that the rains didn't even lead to flash floods. It rained last night and is still raining. We might get another couple of inches.
And we are still BONE dry. Yesterday the county issued a burn ban until further notice. We got 2 1/4" of rain yesterday, bringing us up to a total of 6 1/2". And I woke up to rain and thunder this morning. The ground is saturated now and creeks are out of their banks. Will probably get another inch or two of rain.
On the forecast, it's always been off. My father never stopped complaining how they messed it up and there's not too much of a change even today.the forecast i looked at yesterday sure didn't hold for today. no rain in the forecast for today. nope. it's raining now. i should know by now this year that the forecasts are mostly useless... *sigh*
since there is dewfall anyways on the beans this doesn't matter but i'll have to get out and get the dry beans picked and then dried off ASAP, especially those that are projects for others or experimental plantings i need to check before i get back to picking the bulk eating beans that were ready to come in.
probably should also check the squash and tomatoes...
