Chives and Lettuces, more than self-sufficient now in the spring time~
So, I made a scrumptious dish this afternoon.

Shrimps, chives, egg white, a little bit potato starch, white pepper powder, chopped chives --> all into food processor for about 1 minute --> using piping bag to squeeze the 'shrimp-sage' into the pan

They will be done in minutes and very delicious.

We needed a quick supper so we took a couple of chicken breasts out of the freezer and prepped veggies for a stir fry. There were baby carrots from last autumn lurking in the fridge, fresh garlic from last summer in the pantry, and a massive bowl of Asian greens harvested from four plants that had volunteered outside our front door. That gallon of mustard greens reduced down to almost nothing once it was cooked-- but were they ever tasty! (There was enough left over to make a nice homemade T.V. dinner. We always put leftovers in glass dishes when we can).

After I have my morning coffee I fill my mug with cereal, and then I head out to the garden to pick fresh raspberries to go with it. I'm not sure which variety of raspberry this is, but it clearly has enjoyed the rainy weather that we had for a month beginning in May. The canes have lush green leaves, and this year the berries are enormous. It typically produces like crazy for about two weeks and then it is finished for the season, so we eat as much as we can during that time and freeze the rest. I have a row of one of my favourite summer lettuce growing along the edge of the canes. It's called Tom Thumb, and it is tiny but tough (and I mean tiny-- even at maturity they are single serving sized). Last year it may have been the most heat-tolerant lettuce in our garden, in a scorching year where even beans were difficult to grow.

I was chuckling when I took this close up photo of the raspberries in my mug using a macro setting-- there was a microscopic white aphid walking across one of the berries. 🤣

The first, little Tiara cabbage* with Gai Lan and a few radish.

The Bok Choy is bolting. I think that we actually prefer it at this stage – like the Gai Lan. Certainly, the leaves become a little tuff as the plant matures. More started (along with lettuce). The Bok Choy that grew in the hoop house is long past so this harvest has continued for weeks and weeks.

* The Tiara is 4 1/2 inches, diameter. They only grow that big. A Very Early variety and it has worked fine for cut & come-again for a number of seasons for us. The later heads are larger than Brussels Sprouts but not by much :).

Are the Tiara's from seeds you started, or transplants?

@heirloomgal , the seed came from either Johnny's or Territorial, I have fairly recent orders from both. West Coast Seeds also carry this F1 variety.

I looked in Vegetable Cultivar Descriptions for North America listings and they don't have it on their 2016 list so it must be fairly new. On this thread, I first mentioned Tiara in 2021. All veggies are grown from purchased or saved seed and most are started in our backyard greenhouse.
