Those turkeys are adorable! What is wrong with a couple pet turkeys?? I actually got out in the garden yesterday... I was wearing earmuffs- but I was out there! Weeded the asparagus beds and found a few popping up! Had to cover them last night- and probably for the rest of the week, frost is on the schedule. Dh and I spread 60 plus bags of mulch at the apt project he is managing. In case anyone is wondering- I am out of shape!! Happy Gardening!
Here are a few pictures of my raised beds that I have at home (the big garden is at the in-laws).
This one is for cucumbers only. I have another one next to it that has tomatoes, bell & banana peppers, and lettuce. You can also see in the picture, 2 pots that have more lettuce and some spinach.
Here's some of my flower beds that are newly mulched. The mulch is more like really nice compost but I'm not going to complain when it's free.
Today went almost to plan. Did not quite get that big bed completely framed, and it got kind of too late for cutting another pecker pole down.
I planted about half of each packet of the 8 varieties of Beans I got from Russ. I also planted a few others, and got my bean seeds out for prioritizing. Oh yea, Flageolet will go in.
I watered deeply, and will again in a bit. Want the new beds to settle some, and want to start the season with moist soil down deep.
That's a very neat garden! I don't see any stones . .
It was a very nice day here after a chilly start - blue sky aaallll day! That made a big difference in being able to get away from the greenhouses. With a high of 51F, it was exactly toasty warm but there wasn't really much of a breeze in the big garden.
Got some more ground ready for onions - never ending . Ran the tiller thru the bed I dug out the other day for the gladiolas. Ran the mower around the garden. Hey, that counts! Especially since I have to haul the mower around in the pickup.
Seems that there are a lot of beds left but we have sunny days on tap! There might even be one that breaks the 70 mark again!
I weeded out 3 more beds that needed planting and mulched the beans that are starting to come up. I didn't get a chance to plant, I will tomorrow since I'm off of work and its supposed to rain tomorrow night to help me out
Ducks, I think I'm going to steal your idea and plant some carrots tomorrow around my tomatoes.
