Picked 22+ lbs of Blueberries at a U- PICK ... my wife canned jelly / jam preserves , as well as a batch of blueberry ice creamand froze a lb. from 1.33lbs picked from our back yard. Our neighbor braught over some cucumbers, so she canned some bread and butter pickles.

I haven't done much lately, but I have plans for today since I'm on vacation still... might as well get some work done.

The grapes are done early and we're picking today, I'll be back with pictures of that! :)

We pulled the bush beans and will be planting spinach, carrots and cabbage now. Maybe some lettuce too for fall. Hubby is going to help pull the finished corn, only a few ears left on the stalks. It was a good year for corn at least. Maybe we'll pull out the tiller and start a new spot for a raised bed for next year. I'm on the fence about that, but I do have the wood, might as well use it. :)

We haven't don't much in the garden since last weekend. I'm sure we will be busy canning this weekend. Monty said we have a lot of tomatoes ready to be picked...... and canned. I really haven't been out in the garden since we pulled the bean plants. I should get out there and chop down the corn stalks.

the weather has been mild here. that is BIZARRE for Texas in mid august! it has put me in the mood to think about fall gardening. my tomatoes have hung on so far, so I think i'm going to feed them and see if they'll give me a few more tomatoes this year.
picked a bunch of peppers. I do love peppers - in everything

I planted spinach, mustard and Swiss chard this morning. Picked a few beans for a vegetable stew for supper. The weather here is picture perfect, about 75 and light wind, sunny. I'm enjoying it because I know it won't last. :/
