what's your gas prices down too?

Petrol is about $1.62 in Nevada and some 20 or 30 cents higher up here on the California side.

You know this is temporary, the slightly lower prices, after we forget about the pipe line from the Canadian border to the south and have punished Russia enough, the price can go where ever they want.

In the early seventies the price, at some pumps, went from 17. 9 cents ~ started its climb, the reason that was given was: We, the world, is/are almost out of oil. Not sure what reason is given today if any.

People, many people, use to put a dollars worth of gas in their car at a time, that would be over 5 gallons of petrol. The distance a car would travel on 5-6 gallons I'm sure was greater than it is today.
An engine at 45-50 MPH will use less petrol per mile, at 65-70 mph the engine valves began to float, never completely close, Father taught me that, the fuel isn't burned as completely. There were times when an engines float valve{ in a Carb} was not fully open, not true at higher speeds and with injections system there is no true valve each injector is a valve and they also began to float at speed.

Remember when you could use gasoline as solvent to wash part, I still do. Linseed Oil , not petrol, was 39cents a gallon?

My barber got tired of G'son complaining no work.he got permission from local gas station to pump for free. He told everyone that his service was free while he pumped and cleaned windshields. His "tip" money amounted to $10*/hour. This in small town USA.

In Oregon, they have a law where an attendant MUST pump the gas and the customer CAN NOT. The attendant never cleans your windows or checks your oil or tires. Since the price of gasoline is dropping, the liberal bleeding heart gorvernor and legislature of the State is now in the process of raising the tax on gasoline by $0.10 / gal. hoping that the public will not notice.

I remember driving into Death Valley. A gas station there had the price posted 48cents per gallon. I was so mad that they would price gouge like that. Of course our money was worth more then.

How about 6-10 bales of hay for $1 delivered.

At our ranch market ,we sold poultry, eggs were 19cents, chicken cut up and wrapped 29cent lb.

We have had 4 gas stations close (within 10 miles of here) in the last 4 months. They say that the low prices of gasoline has run them out of business. All 4 stations did not have big snack shops. Many use the store to keep them afloat, I guess.
