@Ridgerunner, I appreciate your explanation of the oil industry issues we have been seeing. It makes me feel better about the eventual passing of the Keystone Pipeline, hearing that some of the safety and environmental issues are being addressed.
And it makes more sense why the Saudis are keeping production up.

Stop and shop supermarkets has a program going on. For every 100 points you get at checkout you get 10 cent a gallon off at shell gas. Some weeks I have gotten 30 cents off a gallon.

I was just looking at heating oil & propane prices.

Of course, they show that huge spike up in 2008 and record highs a few years later but what is the problem lately? They don't really reflect recent drops in gasoline prices.

Heating oil & propane are down but only about 20% from the heights of a few years ago. I didn't crunch the numbers much but they sure haven't dropped from $4 to $2, like gas.

Paid $2.38 today at Costco. Our supermarket also has the gas rewards program. We always get 10 or 20 cents off the gallon.
