You are 100% correct on this. While they do support local producers and fair trade practices, they also sell conventional food as well. It's all about profit. From what I see in thier stores is that they have some people who shop there for organic food because they want to and some people who shop there because it's the "hip" thing to do.vfem said:They are a 'for profit' company, if they see an option to make more money they'll do it.
If those items they sell as 'natural' were 'correctly labelled' and not greenwashed, they would take a different stand.
Companies like WholeFoods should not have a say in Ag... they are just a middle man in the market. They do NOT make these decisions as ok for customers... customers need to stop being dumb, and educate themselves before its too late. (Which it pretty much is!)
