Good Morning!

A new gardening blog to start the week off, although this one is not about allotments I bet many 'lottie' growers visit it for advice. I think this one is going to be very useful.......!! :D

Yep....there's tons of useful stuff on this link. Put a shortcut to the "Herbs, Fruit and Veg" pages. Gonna sure be a good, quick reference, especially for stuff I've never grown, before.

I have been lookiing for a good Japanese vegetable blog & now I have found one:

http://www.adekun.com/category/garden

There are lots of other things here as well, including recipes ( I'm particularly keen on Japanese food.....especially their meat stews which are delicious)!! :D

So I am a very :D 'Happy Hattie' :D today
Hahahahaha....It's not everyday that you run across a gardening blog that has a "Beer Review".

:frow Hattie,

Just read, on one of the allotment blogs where the "Swedish Midsummer Celebration" was mentioned. Googled "it" (never having heard of it, before) and was wondering if you had ever experienced this bonfire building, summer solstice celebration.

They have Guy Fawkes (Bonfire Night) in England... November 5th... Big Bonfire... Not a solstice though!

I just checked my weather network for the second time today and all of a sudden we're getting snow for the next 2 weeks! Sigh... I just planted peas out in my raised beds.

It seems to go back to our past -- the various Celtic tribes & seems to survive in the Wicker calendar as "Fire Festivals". I saw a TV program on them rehearsing a few weeks ago.

Hope this helps explain it -- not sure though as it seems to happen earlier in Britain & not at Midsummer; but then our beginning of summer comes much earlier than in Sweden.....???

Now THAT'S a serious bummer. Just when you think it's "safe" (sorta) to be in the garden.........

Thanks for the links, Hattie. Will check them out, for sure.

Actually it's funny, my daffodil bulbs are starting to come up. I'm just going to put some poly tunnels over them.
