OK, no thesis here, BUT, got a King sized bed, replaced a Queen, so I needed sheets. Bought 2 sets, asked for sets for Christmas (3 years ago,) had an incident with Downey Unstoppables (TERRIBLE HIVES!!:eek:,) bought 2 more white sets bc I could bleach them--no hives, and no fabric softener EVER AGAIN!!, cleaned out guest bedroom closet and found 4 full and partial King sheet sets from before we moved and had a King Then...
Anyway, I have 14 full sets now--I know, who NEEDS 14 sets of sheets?!?!?
I actually Could have 17 full sets of sheets. Just bought fabric for extra pillowcases to complete them.
ANYWAY, a normal King mattress is not square, it is a rectangle that Looks square.
IF your King fitted sheets have stripes (color on color) you Know how to put it on.
If NOT, you guess.
I make our bed every day and pull the fitted sheet at the corners to get rid of any wrinkles, and change the sheets every 2 weeks.
For the replacement fitted sheets that are not striped, I started measuring with a metal measuring tape and stitching on 2 corners, with old cherry red thread, before I removed to wash the set. Next time I will know exactly how to put that fitted sheet on the mattress.
Yes, it IS WORTH THE TIME AND EFFORT!!!
13 sets of sheets, changed every 2 weeks, and every set gets used 4x/yr.
I am not crazy...just detailed oriented.

I told this story at dinner and Eldest DD said..."I have stopped listening..."😜
