Most of us had to ask 3 or 4 older timers here how to get the photos in. First we ask Digit to get the complicated way, then someone else chimes in and adds to the complication, then someone else comes along and says for each little thing a whole paragraph and a bunch of don't worries.

It's doing the quotes here that I never did get. I get lost after the hypotenuse is divided by the square root, and then that is multiplied by the third multiple of the chi square, unless of course the moon is in the first quarter.

But the photos is easy.

I made us TEG members a thread to gather at in the new forum. Trying to get NinnyMary in. We get Mary in safely we can get anyone in safely and soundly.

Mary, I set up a big soft mattress there for to catch you in case you fall. Waiting there to catch ya!

I checked it out some more. I typed a message in wordpad then quoted your post and pasted the reply. No problems. Frankly, I see no difference in bold, italic or underline capabilities on the other site. They seem to work the same for me, with the exception of the code not being visible in the message. I haven't had a chance to post pics yet. I'm working on an out of town job site until tomorrow. Maybe over the weekend I can give it a try. Uploading images here is a bit of a pain, but not terribly so. I upload very few anyway as I prefer to re-size them in GIMP then upload to PB and link to there. That is an even larger pain, but I can share them with more than just the TEG members that way.

On a side note, I really appreciate the fact that you came to the community and informed us of the potential change and gave us the opportunity to at least browse the new format before just dumping it on us. That's real class :thumbsup Most people wouldn't do that. Yet another reason to like TEG.

Thanks for such a nice note! We're a great little community and I'm trying to practice the golden rule of what I'd want done if I was in the same position.

:thumbsup

It took me a little while to learn the new BYC forum, but I can stumble around in there pretty good now. Nifty, I am just so appreciative of having these forums, BYC, SS, TEG BYH for us to post on, post pictures, enjoy every body else and learn from each other. A new and better forum will give us even more fun! Thanks!

Ha Marshall, are you agreeing with me that I'm the worst one here as far as being computer literate? :lol:

Your sweet thinking of the mattress.

By the way, I can do quotes and you can't! Ha

Thanks
Mary :)

"robots" are search engines crawling the web looking for good websites and great info! These robots are our friends and we want them to keep coming back and tell all their friends! :D

Marshall and Ninny Mary, you both could probably run circles around me on the computer! All I really know is it works or it doesn't... :lol:

Carol, Mary, you gals jump in it yet?

Step one is bolster up some courage! Do that by making some double strong coffee with extra cream sugar and added chocolate. Make sure your computer is on and rarin' to go.

Drink your coffee extra fast while pacing and mumbling things about conquering the unknown.

:caf :caf :caf

First thing to be able to do is have 2 or 3 browsers or tabs open and ready to go. Whether that's with what may be called fancy tabs in a single browser or with actual separate browser windows does not matter at all.

To back up on that and simplify, yep, simplifying is good, all that means is, right now are you able to have say your email ready to display by pushing a thing on the bottom rung of your screen or at the top of your screen somewhere? Can you then press another one and say immediately have another webpage pop right in view, then say push another thing down or up there and voyla, right back here?

Well, with the old internet explorer things you can. They just call them each separate "browsers". These newer internet explorers, and google chrome, and firefox are simply able to put several webpages onto one single browser, and they make each accessible by clicking a "tab" at the top. More tabs can be "opened", or you can "X" out a tab. Kinda slick. Obviously an idea made up by a big city person. (((Wallp, ya see, filing cabinets have tabs on some folders, so I think that was the idea made up by someone who uses a briefcase and filing cabinet all the time.)))

Next step is to JUST DO IT BABY! :weee

=====

Carol, Mary...read the following only if you did try to do it, and a minute later you looked out the window and saw mushroom clouds.

=====

Carol, Mary; If you are reading this I must presume that you started WWIII by pushing the wrong buttons on your computer!

Don't worry about getting in trouble. Chances are the authorities are sort of busy now for searching for who started it.

Do not look directly at the flashes and go to your basements immediately.

O.K. Marshall I sure don't want to start any wars. And my computer can get confused if I open more that 2 windows at once. Kinda like me! :)
