Picture gallery? I've been over on that Remodeling the TEG gang today and found it quick(!) to post an image but - should we be moving TEG gallery pictures back into our computers or to another online gallery??

Steve
Picture loading is infinitely easier over there. In fact, I have a handful of pics I want to use to update one of my threads here and I've been putting it off since it's so much easier on the new system. :D

No worries about downloading or saving pics, we'll take care of all of that! We converted www.BackYardHerd.com a month ago and all the images are still showing up just fine!

. . .You are awfully good to us, Nifty.
Wow! Try to say something nice and here I am - paying the price!

Nah, look at this Nifty little message box . . umm, I wonder if I need to shrink things down a little!

You know, neurons might need to be smaller to fit into the Cerebral cortex. Using Control minus sign - yeah, that seems to have helped! Can't go too small, my glasses are still in on the nightstand & DW is asleep . . .

I've still got to see how "preview" works. I'm too much out-of-control kind of guy to trust "Post Reply" very much - not without editing backup!

Uh, oh.

My words ended up as a "quote within a quote!" Had to hover cursor and click my message to see that I'd put it all there . . .

I'll have to use that quotation symbol with caution .

No problem. I will try to be more like Garbanzo the pup - cautious about everything new. . . before I begin to tear it up.

:hu noticed when adding a smiley to the end of a message, it gets placed to the front of the message...

I think I've heard of that happening with others too, but I think it is limited to a specific browser and version. Which browser version are you using?

We STRONGLY suggest peeps move to the newest versions of their browsers available, and definitely recommend either Google Chrome or Firefox (both are free). Internet Explorer, especially versions older than 9, are just going to be full of bugs and problems on today's interweb.

For the record, very old computers should work fine here as long as you have an updated browser. My main computer (the one I'm on right now) is 7 years old, running Windows XP, but the newest version of Firefox and Chrome.

So, the moral of this story: Dump IE and download / update Google Chrome or Firefox :D

I don't know much about the care & feeding of browsers . . . but I'm on a roll this morning .

When I contacted my computer security people about a problem several months ago, she took control of the computer and said, "oh, I see you have some problems in internet explorer." I wondered why that would be - not an IE user.

About a month ago, I kept getting a notice that there were "Microsoft updates to download." For the life of me, I couldn't see what updates they were talking about! Finally, I went to the Microsoft website and found a Word Program update that needed to be done! The internet browsing went quicker after that . . ?

About a week ago, I had something scary going on! And, it was not only scary but rude!

I think I know how I got it. I will search for something and then walk away from the computer. A friend has just bought a Ford Escort. He asked me about the problems I had with one years ago. I was trying to act like I had some clue regarding my Escort problems, checking on models.

See where this is going?? I didn't even search on Google - I was using Wikipedia (& clicked a link . Bingo! I kept getting pop-ups! Escorts . . .

So, I checked that IE browser again and it needed a "security update." Pop up Escort Service disappeared. Sheesh! I am very tempted to go back to IE because it looks pretty slick but I hadn't even opened that browser in months & months.

Well, speaking of "all chrome": I recently bought my wife a Google Chromebook for $199 and she loves it. True you can't do much outside of a browser, but these days people spend about 99% of their time in a browser window anyway.

It's nice how fast it turns on and it just works without bugs, etc... and the price can't be beat.

... but yes, I'd suggest sticking with Chrome or Firefox for your browser!

Sheesh! Everyone promised tons of ice cream... so much I'd get sick of it! THEY ALL LIED!!!

Turns out that milk can produce / encourage mucus... which is already a problem with all the healing going on in there. :(
Yes, they PROMISE ice cream and then do a bait and switch w/ jello!
