ONE DAY MORE of this heat and humidity. Eldest DD begged to make dinner at our house aGAIN, though I made the BLT's yesterday--bc of the heat.
AND, she wants the window AC in the kitchen going.
WHAT DEMANDS!!
But, it's salmon, so I can't complain.
Heat is supposed to break at 10PM tonight, then overnight showers.
Then...much cooler.

checked the rain gauge and it was just a hair below two inches of rain. we didn't need those for sure wish i could have sent them out west, down south or up north to help douse the fires.

since i don't usually check the news i didn't know there were tornadoes mostly in the areas of the state down below where we're at. i'm not sure how accurate the reports are but supposedly 6 tornadoes.

sorry for those who have to deal with the mess it can leave behind and those who are still without power.

MI had several tornadoes. OH, too.

We are in the middle of a 3-day series of afternoons above 90°f (32°C).

Monday will be in the high 90's, we are told. Then ... that's the end of them for 2023?

four more days of moderate temperatures before they go up again. chances of rain tomorrow afternoon and evening. by then i should be done at last with weeding most of the gardens.

rain is here, went out to pick tomatoes and got two buckets in about 10 minutes, could have picked another but i didn't want to get rained on so came in. i could have done it. oh well, will get these canned tonight.

It's raining in south western British Columbia, and you can almost hear the plants breathing a sigh of relief.
