Digits, the "mr. Stripey" is a big one. The tag said 12 oz. I am really new to heirlooms but I want to try my hand at saving seeds.

    Argh.... TICK Invasion

They are awful here too. My MIL has pulled 15-20 ticks off of one of her little foo-foo little dogs PER NIGHT! Luckily my dogs are in a fenced area that we treat every year. I also got guineas last weekend but they have to stay inside for a couple more weeks AND I got 12 'lorp chicks. I...

    my first strawberry!!

Once it's completely ripe I'll be eating them. Probably right off the vine too. I might try to collect seeds from them. It'll be a fun little experiment.

    Fred the rooster

He's an australorp. He's incredibly friendly. He will perch on my arm and allow me to pet him. I have had no aggression issues at all. I am very pleased with him.

    I hit the jackpot!

You know I honestly don't know the local history. I've only lived in this area for about 5 years. The field in front of my in-law's property had parts of an old foundation and shingles that were buried. They only just moved out here a couple of months ago.

    I hit the jackpot!

My MIL and I spotted a maroon and purple iris from her driveway in-between the immature pines in the field. She started digging yesterday and found a boat load of irises, day lilies, sedums, and these other flowers from bulbs that have small purple flowers. I'm not sure what it is but it sure...

    Coop construction

Forgot to mention, we will be putting decking boards on top of the pallet outside of the coop. This will make it sturdier and make it look nicer. Also a box will be built that's 4 ft wide to fit on the end of the coop in the last picture. It will be big enough to fit the metal trash can I...
