Actually, if legal, I'd love for art class to come paint a mural on it. But hey, my dad's side are Alabama hillbillies so what do I know about class or tacky.... ;)

All my life I dreamed of this fence! There are so many possibilities for decoration. Graffiti - a great idea. In Russia, decorate fences and building it. Legally. This can be very beautiful. You can combine with plants.

If it were a true boundary fence then I could do what I wanted with it. A uniform color would be a big improvement. Otherwise, having my DIL paint a woodsy mural an even more exceptional idea.

Unfortunately, I can't touch the thing. It is 1 foot onto his property.
