Boundary wars: (hopefully) the epilogue

Red ... have the surveyors actually marked the boudary with steel posts in the ground ? If so, I woud recommend that your son set them into concrete so that there wouldn't be any doubt about it in the future . :)

Oak posts into the ground and painted, flagged stakes above. We will be putting in our half of the line fence soon so there shouldn't be any further issues with the "where" of the boundary, just what the fencing will look like.

I am sure that setting anything in concrete would involve half on their property and another visit from the law.

hopefully the company who mapped the new property line's, they used gps to map the corner stakes and put them into their findings for both sides....

Agree, with GPS, no excuse for not having accurate measurements now. in old days, a lot of them where off of landmarks.

I bet they put that multicolored fence on purpose to aggravate you. What kind of fence are you going to put up?

Have to LOVE that spell check! Major, I believe all the surveyors survived their experience with the neighbors. Yes, GPS was used and, yes, the county officially has a record of their survey.

When life gives you lemons make lemonade, ad pointy tops and make them colored pencils

Hey, I rather like that, from a retired educator point of view. Certainly better looking than what's there now. Just saw each post in half and put one on each side of center boards.

Actually, I'm guessing the neighbors figure I'll plant something to cover their garish endeavor and they will take theirs down, getting their 1 foot plus one more back. Their side might be all one color, but it's pretty hideous right now, too. Definitely meant as a temporary set up although it cost them a pretty penny in hiring the work out.
