Put everything else on consignment. Bought this higher quality Black Forest treeless saddle the other day. Much thinner panels, nicer to ride.

Last week, he refused to go down the hills.
Few days later, we had a lot of trouble walking from the red mower up into the pen by the shed.
Tonight, he willingly went down the hill! We had some slight issues at the barn and then again by the red mower, but then he continued up into the pen by the shed without issue!
What a good boy!

My camera decided to quit recording once we got to the red mower...Ugh. lol

Turn the sound down or off, it's really noisy. I need one of those microphone muffs!

Met the horse trainer today and he seemed genuinely nice and friendly, got good vibes from him and the other person there. Yea, I already forgot her name, I'm horrible at remembering names.... He likes horses to be out and being horses as much as possible. He has a few fields, mares, geldings and mix. Since I have no idea how my gelding will act with geldings, he said he'll move him around in the small groups until he finds one where my gelding seems to fit in and not be badly bullied or where he's not doing the harassment. Horses in the fields looked happy and calm. He allows your own farrier and vet or use the ones they have come out regularly. Stalls looked roomy and safe. Told him mine has most likely never seen a stall, so they will work with him a little at a time to get him used to what a stall is. I asked about other horses and blanketing, they prefer not to and said that if my guy freaks out or chews on other horse's blankets, he will rework the groups so he is in a blanket-free group. Blankets are expensive!!! Glad he will try to rework the groups so I'm not buying new blankets for other people all the time.
Since I am very local, he will be coming over in 2wks to meet my gelding to give me an idea on what he can do with him and how long it might take.
There ~may~ be trails connecting to the property or neighbor's property, he hasn't checked that all out yet. I believe he said he got permission from one neighbor to be able to ride there and will be asking the others as well. If no trails, they still have a bunch of isles between fields and land owner permission to ride around on.
In December, he'll be working horses and giving lessons and welcomed me to come by and watch.
I am planning on sending the gelding for at least two months, possibly three if I can gather the funds for it. March is when I'm hoping to have him sent over and start.
Hopefully, I'm remembering everything correctly!
Oh, don't think I've mentioned this yet, but DH's coworker's wife has a 2h bumperpull trailer that we can borrow or have her transport my guy with. So, that's great! She also said that she would be willing to go trail riding with me, ride my guy and bring her horse for me to ride on my neighbor's property if I can get permission or that we can do that on her property.
*squeee!!!* My first real horse friend in the works! :D. I need to get her a Christmas present...hmmm

Anyway, if you can't tell already, I'm feeling positive and excited.
If the meeting on the 17th and then the visit while he trains goes well, I'll be setting up a date to drop my boy off.

Oh, security cam screenshots of the ride when he refused to go into the pen by the shed. They're awful quality, sorry.
Will attempt to take a real video of some riding tomorrow.

Short 8-9 minute ride today. Feel a little off, maybe I'm sick? =0
So, just a short, odd feeling ride. No spooks today, he was very calm and mellow. My knock-off gopro took videos in 3min segments, idk why, posted those on youtube, will link later on. He had a couple lone stops to see if we were done with our walk or not. He wanted to go through the open gate by the wood board, but worked our way past it. Then the other gate was open, just had hot wire, he wasn't sure what to make of that.
All in all, a very nice ride.
Oh, had the water on to fill a sheep trough, hose as a leak, it was spraying water, he stopped once or twice to wonder about that as well. Would be to the far left of the videos.

I need to get the videos from the security cam. I ride bareback up the hill when I go to get them for their hay. :)
Well, actually, recently, it's been more of...first rescuing the dim-headed pinto mini from her insanity and out of the hot wire pen the willows are in....every. day....for the last 4 days....ugh, idk what she's thinking, lol.
