@Marie2020 , I wonder how many folks have milk delivery even available where they live :). When I went off to college in a distant city, Mom set up milk delivery for me ♥️. Cheese also, delivery was discontinued in the town the following year.

For 2 months, I lived with train tracks directly behind the house. It was a spur so trains didn't come often but when they did pictures would shake on the wall and it was difficult to talk over the noise. My uncle had only gone through a divorce a short time earlier and didn't live there long before moving. I was gone before he was!

As a kid, I could see and hear the train go by about 1½ miles away. The railroad was on the otherside of farm fields and the Harry & David warehouses . Yes, the fruit basket mailorder outfit ;). Sometimes, a steam engine went by – maybe going off to a wrecking yard or museum or something 🚂. The noise and smoke was tremendous during those events!

I once lived near a train track. But it didn't disturb me at all because I slept soundly then and we didn't have the smoke.

Age changes our sleep patterns and I'm guessing being more aware in life can also have an impact. Oh for the days when life seemed so simple with so many things to look forward to and dream of

Still, as I said already, I'm blessed to have real milk, maybe not as perfect as it was but nevertheless better than store bought in the plastic bottles. No such luck with a local cheese I'm afraid 😅

Part of my vegetable supply is pretty local, expensive but very well worth it.
Sadly knowing how our fruits are today isn't so comforting but at least we have fruit so I still should not complain. The pears I've purchased recently could easily break a window that's really strange 🤔 🤣
Don't worry I have no intention of breaking any windows 😉
