Saw a metal screen door at the habitat store today....the man said it was $10 and I said, "Well...that's too bad. If it were $5, I'd buy it!"

He said, "Well, it must be $5 then!" It went home in our truck.

Now I'll have two sliding screen doors on that spare pen of mine! Keeps me from having to build a wall there, though I think I'll still have to build some pockets to receive these doors and keep them steady when they are closed. Any given time I'll be able to lift these doors off the track and have that whole wall open....will come in handy when I store things in that pen this coming winter, such as hay, bags of leaves, pumpkins and apples.

I'll spray paint these doors to match so it will all look more planned, so to speak...have lots of spray paint around here. Paint, like love, hides a multitude of sins.

Now I'll have two screen doors to use for dehydrating veggies this summer and also for covering cold frames next winter. JOY!

I also saved some HUGE, clear plastic bags~very heavy duty plastic~from my leaf scavenging this past fall, that will fit neatly over these doors as the plastic for my cold frame topper. LOVE repurposing things like that and it will make it so easy to convert these doors into cold frame tops.

Also got a gallon of premium grade paint at the habitat store for $8. There were two whole pallets of donated paint there, all good brands and quality, all never opened....had to control myself. :hide There were so many good bargains there today, so many really nice things for such cheap prices that I had to just leave. A person can get greedy, when prices are so cheap, and buy things they really have no room or purpose for.

Got other misc. items for cheap there today before I could get Mom and I out of the store~$7 for an aluminum step ladder, $1 for two pair of nice pliers, $1.50 for an excellent old hammer, $20 for an even more excellent, sturdy and nice old wooden rocker that fits Mom like it was made for her....will try to get pics of the chair up here soon.

Can never have enough step ladders !!!!I swear mine love to play hide and seek.

That one puts Mom's ladders up to 5... She didn't have a 6 ft one and claimed it was lighter weight than her 8 ft., so more handy to pull out for this or that. I was eyeballing it to use for trellising in my garden along with the old wooden one(oops...six!) I got from the trash the other day, but after she said that I couldn't very well snag it for the garden....might have to "borrow" her 8 ft one, though. :D

Greenhouse going out of business. Town of Lagrange had number 1 growth rate in county. A lot of the farms are being sold off to developers. Everyone is moving away from Westchesters insane Taxes. In the time I had my house area gone from rural to suburban.
