When my neighbors got married I gave them very generous shower and wedding gifts as I had know the groom and his family since his birth. 2 years later I got a one line thank-you on their Christmas card. When their daughter was born again I gave a very generous baby gift. Again a one line thank you on their Christmas card. GGGGRRRRR
Would they notice if you stop sending gifts?

Give me a break. :)

Do u want us men to start listing ALL the things we have to do for you? & we don't bring it up in every conversation as if it our cross to bear

Yes please. That would be an enlightening list. ;)

Of course not all relationships are the same, but I know who has the most free time in my family. And that's not to discount what is done on either side.
I'm thankful and appreciative and don't whine.
I get the idea that most of the women on this site are hardworking git-r-dun types that more than pull their weight. Not pouty princesses waiting helplessly for a guy to rescue them.

I sure love pulling your chain Seed! :D

@thistlebloom No,problem on this end. Although I would never yank anyone else's chain or have fun at some else. Trust me, you don't want me to start on "list". Regardless of our back rounds we are a very similar group-except for a few of the southerners who love to torment with pix when we are fighting snow. Now, they are a different group. :)

Well seed, I'm not a southerner but I will send you a picture of my roses blooming in December. Just to be kind you know. ;)

Mary
You are an adopted southerner so I would expect nothing less. :)

For all you newbies that had no idea why I dislike southerners, you should be getting a strong reason why now...... Oh yes, Dads side from N. Alabama...

It would make for an interesting thread.

Have your people send my people a hand written invite note as to conversation proposal. My people will email your people back their response. :)

Okay.
Wait a minute, my people have to send a handwritten note, but your people email back?
Is that because my people is a woman (me) and we're better at handwritten personal notes, and your people are, umm, guy type people?

I write thank you notes to my renters here at this house and the other one I manage, thanking them for their stay.

I have a yearly calendar where I write every family Bday along with their new age every January. It hangs in the kitchen.

I too would like an acknowledgement from my DD and Grands that first: they received the packages in the mail. Second: they liked what they got.

Instead I have to ASK!

As for thank yous for weddings, showers and the like. I've been to two of them in the last few years, where we were asked to fill out the envelope with our address. Neither gal ever sent out thank yous. Sheesh..
