When we lived on our ranch in Cal. ... for 17 years we had a whapping total of ZERO trick or treaters. Here in Wa. last 2 years starting about 5 :15 to 9 :30 we get on average of 4 every 2 minutes. ( from 2 to 10 ghosts and goblins ). Our front door hardly gets closed when we have to open it again. This year my wife cleaned out the candy shelves .

Not too many. Previous years there were older people who didn't participate and know one wants to cross a busy street for just 2 houses. They usually stop around 8pm. This year there are 3 more younger families that decorate their houses. We'll see if we get more than last year. It's raining so may not get that many.

Tonight we'll give candy till about 7:30 and then go to friends house for dinner. I'll go dress as a Chef. I'm sure hubby won't dress up at all. He's much more serious than I am. :) Tomorrow we have another party to go to at 11:00 for one of my preschoolers. I get very close to my families and we always go their parties. There is another party in the evening for Dia De Los Muertos that another of my families is having but I'll be too pooped out to go. I can only handle one party a day. :D Sunday, I'm taking out a good friend out to breakfast for her birthday. I am already so busy with so many birthdays coming up. I'm already feeling tired.

We have lived in this house for 22 years, and never had a trick or treater. I usually buy candy, just in case, and end up eating it myself. This year I bought some 77% cacao dark chocolate, the kind you eat for "health." That way, I will have no guilt about eating it. If any kids show up, I will give them an apple. Save the chocolate for me.

I had a tenant stop out last night to pay her rent when she spotted some marigold plants that never made it into the garden. After wondering aloud that they were just sitting beside the driveway, she offered to purchase them. I asked why, since a hard freeze is predicted for tonight and everything will be toast.

She said that 'tradition' required a pot of marigolds be on the table for Dia De Los Muertos. She happily walked to her car with a well-grown plant riff with blooms -- free of course. That's as close to a party I'll be getting anytime soon.

Living out in the sticks for 40 years, we've never had trick-or-treaters other than a good friend's children on their way into town.

When in town, we would have 200-300 (first year had to run to store as ran out of candy). This town really got into it. Second year, had stereo blasting scary music, we dressed up, met them at door with dog. One little girl kept saying. Trick or treat puppy.

In country, just neighbor kids-2-4.

Didnt have any kids then. As kid, never went home till T & T was over. Then we pour stash on table to inspect the reward of our labors.

Yes ran as only store open. No Walmart or dollar general then. Store 2 blocks away. So many kids on streets, couldnt drive if I wanted to
