Yes, @canesisters had the most trick-or-treaters, but that doesn't make her the winner. I figure I come out way ahead since I didn't have any small visitors and I didn't have to buy any candy to lay around the house calling my name.
Wasn't trying to 'win' anyting.... It was a church event and took about 150 folks to pull it off. I was there but didn't get in on any of the fun, had to finish up a vidio project for pastor & staff appreciation day instead.
In fact, I can't remember the last time I had a trick-or-treater come to the house. Seems that I've lived at the end of very long driveways for a very long time.
Did go reverse trick-or-treating once. Dressed up the dogs and went around the farm where there were 8 rental houses handing out little bags of candy.
We had about a dozen. It's a small town, the wind chill was really cold and we aren't always home for Halloween. I left my "2014 Salsa Party: Game of Pirates!!" decorations up from Columbus Day weekend WITH all of the orange and green and purpose fairy lights, plus the porch light to make it Obvious that we were giving out candy this year. I even had candy in Halloween ziplock bags prepared ahead of time. Parents were driving their munchins door to door, too.
Somewhat disappointed.........
MontyJ and I have lived on a dead end road for the last 13 years. The first year we bought a ton of candy, of course our kids were still little enough to go trick or treating, so we would start them off. That was the last year I bought candy for Halloween! When we lived in town, we had about 3 to 400 kids come to our house. Monty would get into it and dress up for the kids too. He always had a lot of fun.
