My nephew and girlfriend have been broken up. They broke up before she found out about being pregnant. She is in her mid 30s and always wanted children. She told my nephew she makes enough money to take care of child herself. Mother of 1st kid said same, once bills start piling up that changes. Time will tell, t is a boy due in April. What I really have a hard time with is in this day of Aids and Hep C young people are having unprotected sex. I have known a lot of people, who have died from Aids, not a easy way to go. The highest numbers of new HIV cases are heterosexuls 18 to 35. It is no longer a gay disease.

We also have growing HIV and hepatitis. It's so awful. Sometimes children are born with HIV. This is the worst. They become outcasts at school and among others. And they do not understand why. So pity…

all i can say is....if you do not want to pay child support... either get clipped or wrap the rascal..
and if your not sure about your bar room partner...wrap it....

That is sort of a shame, Nyboy, that they broke up. Or perhaps not. It almost sounds as if being in her mid-thirties, she used him as a sperm donor and has no use for him now.

How old is your nephew? Not that it matters. He is old enough that he should be looking out for his own best interests with his head, not other body parts.

Being a teacher, I always saw the effects of family problems on the children. Self-centered adults don't always take the children's view into consideration.

I have a lot of guilt over my nephews childhood. My brother and his mother separated when he was a little over a year. My brother never paid a dime in support, his ex never went after him for it. My family had no contact with him for about 17 years, was the familys dirty little secret my brother being dead beat dad. His mother had a drug and alcohol problem and hook up with crackhead. At 15 he was always fighting with mothers boyfriend, boyfriend gave choice kid went or he was leaving mom picked boyfriend. At 15 my nephew was living on street, doing things no teenager should have to do to survive. At 18 he was in major trouble with law looking at long prison term. With no one to turn to looked me up and called me for help. Both of my sisters have well ajusted kids who grew up around loving family. I can not help but wonder if my nephew was giving the same how he would have turned out.

I understand all that. But he has to grow up. If he needs help, get it for him. You are doing good.

He's the one that should feel guilty. He is turning out to be like his sperm donor. You'd think he'd want to be a better man than that. rant over.
