WOW what a wonderful set up.. I have watched as you have included us in pictures of the process.. you inspire me.. really.. oh and if you ever run into your full (pictures) You actually have more space on BYC than here.. so I open the uploader in BYC upload it over there copy the img and paste it here.. because I paid for the golden membership over there I have like 20M so most of my pictures are stored over there..

just a FYI!

eta: I suppose you could do the same over on SufficientSelf too..

Regarding the tulips, did you order them from a certain company of just get them at your local hardware store?

All your flowers are making me jealous.

To die for GORGEOUS!!! OH MY!!!!

I am blown away... I mean soooooooooooo blown away. The colors are just perfect in your space, and the plants seems so settled in and happy like they've always belonged. Oh, I bet you feel soooooooooooo good looking out the window.

You so rock at this gardening stuff, and its only spring!!!!!!!!!

Catalina,

Your garden looks beautiful& the photos are great. CONGRATULATIONS :bouquet :bouquet :bouquet You have worked so hard & really planned ahead ( planting all those bulbs in past years). You must be very proud. :D

Are you already formulating more plans for the future? We gardeners are never satisfied -- we always want a little more, then more, then more again.....ad infinitum !! :happy_flower

Happy Gardening. :coolsun

Some I bought from local stores, but the more unusual ones I ordered from http://www.bluestoneperennials.com/b/bp/index.html.

I love tulips, because they bloom forever and you really can't kill them.
Some of the volunteers this year are from bulbs I dug up last fall. I forgot to plant them and they sat around in a bucket full of water for 3 weeks.....rotting. I dumped them out and ta da they bloomed this spring!

This is the surprise I've been working on!

I got the idea from http://www.skippysstuff.com/biofiltr.htm
My pond isn't very big so I changed a few things.

And I still have a lot of work to do, but this is what I've done so far -

3530523811_36ea93dcd2.jpg

It started out like this.

3530524045_81f7b2e9fe.jpg

It's part of a bigger flower bed.

The other side.

3530524477_895b1187bc.jpg

First step - dig a really big hole.

3531340840_fcca5a945a.jpg

Trying to level it - it's still not level :p

3531341380_13b94e3d90.jpg

Collected supplies for the waterfall. I ended up using a black plastic milk crate, that's not in the pic.

Plumbing.

Setting up.

Filling the pond.

Yay! It's working!

Now I still need to get more rocks, fill in more dirt around the pond and plant some flowers around the pond.
