I imagine that all of us make clothing changes, depending on seasons. I mean, beyond whether we wear a jacket or not.
Some, wear shorts and tank tops thru the summer. Not me ... but, I wear sweatpants a lot during the winter months. Not because they are warmer than my usual denim but because they are so darn comfortable.
Along about now, I put the sweats away for the season. I've finally lost enough around the waist that I don't need elastic to be comfortable.
Now, I've got choices:

How sweet. So far I have plenty of tops that fit a little loose, WAY better than saran wrapped on! Or more clothes that had been tucked up in a closet for the day I got my act together and lost the excess.Two sizes is a big deal!
