Steve, you only have 2 choices during the winter. You move more or eat less, none of which sound very good. Maybe you can do a little of both? But please watch the amount of fruit that you eat. Even though they are good healthy foods they are still high in carbs. Any carbs not used by our bodies turns into fat. Sorry for the bad news.

Steve, THEY SAY, "you only really enjoy the first and last bite of your food." I would let Spouse order the good stuff and I would take the first bite. Usually that was my last bite, but occasionally I would get as second bite just as the food was about to be history.

The seven surprising benefits of exercise: http://ti.me/2bEm50O via @TIMEHealth.

I am within 1# of my goal of 185.

:) Overshooting it would be more than fine but I have not weighed less than that in about 10 years. How much do skinny fat cells weigh?

Steve, it is great to hear that you're so close to your goal weight! And, yes, going under would provide a cushion against the cruel inactivity of winter and all that deliciously preserved garden harvest.

Skinny fat cells don't weigh much, but they never go away -- sitting in wait for weight to return.

There is a new non-surgical procedure that kills fat cells. Once gone, forever gone! It is currently being used mostly for double chins and love handles. I would really appreciate an all-over option.

Gee!

It sounds dangerous, @Smart Red !

Ya know, several weeks (months) in summerlike weather during the winter might stir-fry off a little more weight ;).

I'm surprised that so many people get zero exercise, at any time. A minimum of an hour, 5 times a week sure isn't much of an Exercise Hell. I'm curious what the studies indicate for longevity. I know that purposeful activities help with thinking and optimism. Good for us!

It was surprising to read that most Americans over the age of 5 get no exercise. I'm not sure -- or at least I surely hope -- it's not true. At least in these parts I still see young people riding bikes and playing in the parks.

I question the part of most Americans over the age of 5 getting no exercise. Here we still have P.E. or recess throughout all grades, so kids are getting out and moving.

I just learned about exercise helping with anti aging and making your skin look better from a book written by a plastic surgeon.

Steve, I have all the confidence in you that you will not only meet your goal but surpass it. :)It must feel sooooo good to weigh what you did 10 years ago. My husband is shooting for his high school weight! He's crazy and I'm sure won't meet it. haha

I'm eating more ...

I'm spending more time eating ... More time in the lazyboy. Yesterday, I hardly moved through the afternoon ... except back and forth to the kitchen.

This year, I tried to notice my eating habits. When I first started to be real busy in the garden, I started to eat like a construction worker! Then, I kinda caught my stride and found that I wasn't really hungry and had things to do, and was getting them done!

There is no real proof that I don't have as much to do but this week, I'm behaving like I don't! Not asleep, I'm just reading and eating!

This was okay when I only had a little time for this kinda behavior. Will need to understand behavior modification a little better ...
