Yesterday a lady friend of my wife from Viet Nam, braught over a BIG pot ( enough for 4 days meals for 2 ) of Ox Tail Soup. Recipe is from her family for generations and is toughted to be VERY HEALTHY. It has some chunks of ox tail and tons of cabbage, kale, celery, carrots, some other vegetables and herbs that she said in Viet Namese that I can't recall.

What a kind and thoughtful friend your wife has. She must have spent a lot of time preparing that special soup for you.

Note the second ingredient, Bob: LINK

If there is a little sausage in the soup, I've noticed that it will be quite sweet, as well.

It doesn't mean she is a pho, trying to sabotage your health. "No MSG. Made in the USA."

Steve
No, no sausage. just a few morcels of ox tail and the rest of the soup are vegetables and water.

My wife thanks you. I don't know how long it took to make the soup, but we really appreciate her jesture. The friend braught her 8 year old daughter, who had a jolly time harvesting strawberries and blueberries ( many whent into her mouth :drool and some whent into a bucket ) for over an hour while my wife and friend sat on sitting rocks ( retaining wall boulders ) and talked and talked. :caf

My wife's doctor called her late yesterday afternoon to say that after all of the x-rays, cat scans, ultra sounds, blood work and cultures, hormone analysis, etc., etc., her heart is healthy, artery and veins good, all organ systems are good... they can't find a good reason as to why the blood clot formed. The doctors recommended that she be on blood thinners from now on. :caf

Not happy that there is no reason found, but all the rest is good news. Sometimes, just a small bump with the leg into the dishwasher door can cause a blood clot that travels. It may be as simple as that.

Here's hoping she's back to herself soon. The summer is a terrible thing to waste.

What a relief to know that everything is ok. The clot that wiped her out is not good, but the fact that she is healthy sure works in her favor. Glad that she got such a good report.
