The hill is on the south side of the property with the trees lined on the south and west side. They will get a few hours of morning light only.... by 10-11 am they start to get shaded. I've got some holly bushes and rhodadendra that do well at the top of the hill. I'm planning on digging and turning the soil this fall to see what I can do with it. Should I wait until spring to plant roses?

Ok, sorry Joe... I've hijacked your thread!!!! :(

LOL,

I wouldn't plant roses there, they would only eventually fail. Typically this is the area that is most suited for sun during the winter months. It sounds like it is too shady.

Sorry!

I hope you don't mind if I get back on topic here? :gig

I took all that Plumeria and jammed some of the bigger ones in the ground here and there.

The rest of the cuttings needed a place to live. I wanted to be able to protect them from the cold.

So I found this old tub on wheels, I love wheels!

Not very pretty so I painted it up a little.

Being on wheels I wanted to hold them in place. I don't want any new roots to be disturbed .

A close up! See the seat belts? We don't want anyone falling out of the car!

Thank you V.

I sure hope by spring I have a huge collection of plants ready to sell!
Not just any plants but plants worth cash! Like I mentioned these babies sell for $20.00 a foot of stalk! I felt the need to go the extra mile for there winter care.

Now I need more of the other colors to complete my collection!

That is very clever, Joe! I like how you supported them with a grid of string.

Thanks Journey the grid is actually made from Bell Wire, like the wire used for low voltage such as door bells, hence the nickname.

That's the plan when we get the greenhouse going. I'll start way more then I need for my garden so I can sell the rest of the starts locally. We're pricing out prefab sheds right now that we would love to build a small green house off of.

I don't think I'm going to have anything worth $20 a pop! LOL

Great plan though... a nice little spring side business. :D

I was looking around the last few days for some garden deals.
Take a look at all the goodies I have picked up for cheap!

The pot on the left is just slap full of baby Pony Tail Palms, it was only $1.50!

I am going now to a job where the people have huge Pony tails.
I am bringing my camera and will post some pictures of these giant things.
