The red flower spike is a Odontonema tubiforme Firespike.

My Yesterday Today Tomorrow is confused it is totally purple today.

The fancy leaf plant the looks a little like marijuana is a really neat plant. I have a book somewhere here with a picture of it. At first I thought it was a False Aralia.

A lot of cool plants here, I have a lot of what they sell.

Ron those red enchiladas are killer looking!

Sounds like you need some Ben Gay on your back.

Beefy if I was aloud to grow it I would, but not worth it!
Funny I can't grow a plant but I am aloud to make I think 30 gallons of wine a year with no problem!

Hey everyone I went back to get my drill today.

I talked the lady out of giving me that big variegated Schefflera.
yes I said talked her out of giving me a plant. It was needed where she had it but needed a trim. So I did!
She was very happy to get that huge plant trimmed up and I was happy with all the cuttings.

Here is her Plumaria it also needed trimmed, I also did that for her.

My gosh,

That Plumeria is awesome. Once we ordered Plumeria blooms for a party and I spent the day stringing nā lei (plural for lei). I will never forget the aroma! We also ordered Maile, Alyxia oliviformis nā lei. The aroma on that was unbelievable, I think I wore my Maile for days!

Oh Ron and Joe, I'm just thinking about the fabulous aroma!!! I love Plumeria... I am just fading off into dreams thinking about it. :th

Joe, I wanted to also thank you because we are headed to Lowe's to order the finally bit of siding for the house we started last year and are yet to finish. I also want to look at clearance plants and see what I could get in the ground to put on a super shady hill side... something that can deal with trees... and maybe attack the kids who were told to stay away from pond (or I would turn my rooster lose on them). So now I need something with spikes and prickers from hell!!!! :barnie

:watering *Grow my little pretties... GROW* :smack

Well, I guess I need to start getting roses to plant on the hillside!

You know, I've never shared any pictures of the hillside we have backing our property?! Odd.... Probably because its so shady only weeds and moss cover it and its surround by trees on 3 corners. I don't think roses would do well there?!

Joe,

I keep reading about you doing work for someone and then bringing home plants or cuttings.

Do they ever pay you in like.....money?

Or do you survive on the bliss of greenery?

Here is a page listing partial shade tolerant roses, but how much shade is there?

http://www.antiqueroseemporium.com/partialshade.html

If you have that much shade and you have brats rummaging the hillside, then try Stinging Nettles, they can do the shade. Mix them in with your leaf color ornamentals.

I think they would look lovely mixed with Coleus!

That is funny!

I estimate the job, give them a price, we agree and I repair what needs to be done.

The cuttings are like a tip!
The job is easy to do, talking them into sharing with you is an art!
