Today's sun set/rise around the world

@journey11 , you might be right although there were no fires burning that I knew of at the time. This is what we sometimes get when there's a fire burning, you can barely make out the sun in the middle down low in the picture. Everything's covered in ash, the same thing happened when Mt. St Helens blew, we were covered in ash for days.

This is the eastern-most point in the U.S., but it was a sunset, not a sunrise. Taken 2 weeks ago while enjoying vacation. They have taken the old coast guard station at Quoddy Head and turned the 4 bedroom station house into lodging for rent. Cool place with great views!
