I planted orange meated ones, yellow meated ones and I forget what the red meated ones are called, I would have to go look at the seed pack.

I LOVE me a yellow or orange watermelon!!! I've got several varieties that I've started indoors because they take so long to mature. I like watermelon pickles.

Thats the thing sweetheart, I dont have a recipe. In fact, I've been told that watermelon wine is very difficult to make. The reason givin is that watermelon juice spoils real fast. I just hate to be told that I cant do something. That is the whole reason I got the gardening bug. I figured it would be cheaper to grow my own watermelons than it would be to buy them (little did I know about catching the gardening bug). I have done my research and found a wine yeast made by Lalvin that ferments well at a cooler tempature and ferments faster and has compact lees. I will also use a yeast nutrient. I will also keep the alcohol level fairly low (around 11%) so that fermentation ends faster. I will also use a yeast starter program so that I have yeast that have already multiplied a great deal so there is little lag time. Did that help?

To the question about the taste of yellow and orange meated watermelons. They taste just like watermelon, you know, some are sweeter than others.
