Success, how does one define success, we raised our three to be self sufficient caring human beings, that's our biggest success. No college or university but all three worked hard at their chosen professions. One is retired military, but works on the ice roads in the winter, one owns a marine business with two other partners and the third ended up in a managerial position, he has a condo in the B.C. interior and they just sold their winter home in Palm Springs and bought a condo where they are right now for the winter. Nothing was handed to them on a silver platter and they all learned at an early age if you want something you have to work for it. I may have been a high school dropout as was DH, but we tried to instill in our three, life is what you make of it, don't wait for someone to give it to you, not happening.
Drugs, that's another kettle of fish, for the life of me I just don't understand why so many have gone down that road of self destruction and it's getting worse by the day. I just can't fathom the mentality of these people, so sad :(.

I mean people who's success is worldly. They supposedly have everything in the way of worldly goods and things, yet are lacking in what really matters, hence they self destruct with drugs. What a waste. Their success could be turned around to do good with what they have been blessed with, yet they prefer to pack powder up their nose, pop pills or get up close and personal with needles.

Few are they who actually use worldly blessings for the good of others. Not bashing wealth, just the sad people's lives that don't understand how to use it.

I've often wondered that myself....especially musicians and singers. It's a wonderful, wonderful feeling being up there on stage, doing something you do very well and the crowd is really loving it. It gives a natural high feeling that you don't soon forget...but it seems that's not enough, is it? Maybe they like that feeling so much that they want to have it all the time they are NOT on stage too? Not sure, but it sure seems a waste to be so talented and yet so ignorant as to destroy yourself.
